It Was Ok

Let me start by saying that the feel of the shop was inviting at first. They have two TVs for customers to watch and candy/gum machines for the kids. I took my son there to get a haircut. My son is autistic and the process can be somewhat stressful. My demeanor of this shop changed after he got in the barber’s chair. My son would not keep still so I had to step in. At this point he’s getting overwhelmed and I’m literally sitting holding him to keep still while the barber tries to edge him. A younger barber is now laughing and joking to his customer and I know that it’s regarding my son’s behavior because now some of the customers are turning to throw glances our way. A girl walking from the back is stopped by him and he’s muttering at her and now she’s in on the joke. I could feel my face burning. All in all, I feel bad that another older barber had to step in and help due to my son’s tantrum, but I feel that the younger barber should be told about professionalism as he was very unethical. We try to teach our kids right from wrong, and seeing how there is a lot of bullying going on in the world today, it does indeed start at home. I do want to thank the barber attempting to do my son’s edge and also the older barber for stepping away from his customer and getting the job done. It was a spur-of-the-moment event as we were in town but we will not be going here again.
